The period between Jun-Sept is very hot and humid with temperatures exceeding 40°C. The average temperature in winter is about 16°C. Mar, Apr, Oct and Nov are pleasant months.

DRIVING LICENSE

International permits are not acceptable but a temporary licence may be obtained. All visitors should apply to the Traffic Department, taking passport, photographs, driving licence and sponsor’s letter. UK licences are acceptable for issuing a three month temporary licence.

GCC citizens do not require a visa, whereas all other nationalities do require. Visas can be obtained through a local sponsor.

A 72 hrs transit visa can be obtained on arrival provided passengers are holding onward tickets.
 

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

Cholera and TAB vaccinations are advised. A valid certificate for yellow fever is required if arriving from an endemic country.
